Massachusetts' Governor Maura Healey Hysterically Threatens to Gerrymander the State to Eliminate Republicans but There's One Problem: They Already Did

August 7, 2025 - Governor Maura Healey's saber-rattling about gerrymandering in retaliation against Texas Republicans falls flat, especially when her own state stands as a prime example of maps rigged to perfection, leaving zero Republican congressional districts despite Trump pulling over a third of the vote in 2024.
Healey hosted fleeing Texas Democrats this week, decrying the Lone Star State's redistricting as a "craven power grab" to add GOP seats for 2026. Her suggestion of redrawing Massachusetts' lines? Pure comedy, considering the Bay State's districts are already sculpted to ensure Democrat dominance, silencing millions of voters who lean right.
The farce deepens with history: Massachusetts' last redistricting in 2021, following the 2020 census, preserved the all-Democrat delegation, entrenching a system where Republicans, despite consistent 30-40% statewide support, hold no seats. But the real lockdown came after the 2010 census, when 2011 maps slashed districts from 10 to 9 and redrew boundaries to eliminate any viable Republican paths, wiping out the last GOP representatives who had served until 1996.
This setup guarantees one-party rule, mocking fair play while Healey feigns outrage over others' maps. It's high time to dismantle such distortions and restore true representation.
