FBI Vows to Root Out Anti-Christian Bias Following Task Force Revelations
The report highlighted a 2023 FBI Richmond memo that labeled "radical-traditionalist" Catholics as potential domestic terrorism threats, proposing infiltration of churches.

The FBI, under Director Kash Patel, has committed to eliminating anti-Christian practices from the Biden era, aligning with President Trump’s Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias, as detailed in a recent report exposing systemic bias across federal agencies.
President Trump signed Executive Order 14,202 on February 6, 2025, establishing the DOJ-led task force, chaired by Attorney General Pam Bondi, to identify and rectify unlawful anti-Christian policies and actions. The task force’s initial assessment, released September 5, 2025, uncovered numerous instances of bias during the Biden administration, with a final report due by February 2026.
The report highlighted a 2023 FBI Richmond memo that labeled "radical-traditionalist" Catholics as potential domestic terrorism threats, proposing infiltration of churches. The memo, exposed by a whistleblower, was retracted after public outcry, prompting internal reviews and congressional scrutiny. The task force also found the Biden DOJ aggressively prosecuted approximately 24 pro-life Christians under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act for peaceful protests outside abortion facilities, while failing to apply the same law to protect churches and crisis pregnancy centers from attacks.
Further, the report noted Biden-era FBI policies that stigmatized employees for religious objections to the COVID-19 vaccine mandate, allowing public shaming of unvaccinated Christian staff, with derogatory terms like "plague rats" and "murderers" used by colleagues. Religious exemption processes involved invasive questionnaires, and those granted accommodations faced weekly public testing and mask mandates, effectively marking them for their beliefs.
To address these findings, the FBI is investigating employees for anti-Christian conduct, reviewing training programs, auditing confidential sources for compliance, and cooperating with Congress to ensure transparency. Director Patel emphasized these steps as critical to restoring trust. The task force’s broader inquiry also revealed biases at other agencies, such as the Department of State’s preferential leave policies for non-Christian holidays and the Treasury’s debanking of pro-Christian groups.
